• Rug Pulls are a fraudulent schemes where a scammer manipulates the price of a new cryptocurrency using misleading information.

• Here’s how they works:

  • The scammer spreads false hype about the crypto, making it seem like a promising investment.

  • Unsuspecting investors buy the currency, causing its price to skyrocket (this is the “pump” phase).

  • Once the price is high, the scammer sells their own holdings, cashing in on the inflated value.

  • As a result, the price crashes, leaving other investors with losses.

Pump and Dumps and Rug Pulls are very similar but different categories.
